Sailing in Croatia

September 6 - 19

Friday, September 11, Viska Luka Bay

The second tour was pretty incredible, due in a great part to our excellent tour guide Marco. He had so much enthusiasm for his subjects. He told us about the history of the island of Vis, having been ruled by various countries over the centuries.

Franciscan Monastery and the Church of St. Jerome

Marco picked fresh figs for us to eat.

Wine production was huge on Vis in ancient times, with vineyards covering most of the island in terraced plots and the wine used to barter in trade. Presently, the acreage is considerably less and 90% of the wine produced on the island is consumed here.
