Statue of Prince Eugene of Savoy that commemorates his decisive victory against the Ottoman Turks at the 1697 Battle of Zenta. Originally cast for the city of Zenta (modern-day Senta, Serbia), the city could not afford it, so it was purchased by Budapest as a placeholder for a never-built statue of Emperor Franz Joseph I.
Matthias Fountain (Mátyás kútja), often referred to as the Trevi Fountain of Budapest. The sculpture depicts a royal hunting party led by King Matthias Corvinus standing victoriously over a slain stag. Surrounding the king are his hunting dogs, a groom with a falcon, the chronicler Galeotto Marzio, and a peasant girl named Szép Ilonka, who is a central figure in a tragic poem about falling in love with the king.
