The next day, we went on a boat cruise to the Ballestas Islands.
El Candelabro (The Candelabrum), a large-scale geoglyph on the Paracas Peninsula that may have served as a beacon to mariners, represents the lightning rod of the god Viracocha, god of the sun and storms, etc. The mystery as to the origins of this particular geoglyph is ongoing with much speculation.
